A roe deer hunt
On the territory of Ukraine mostly spread the european roe deer. The length of the roe deer body up to 130 cm, the weight up to 40 kg. Bucks have smooth horns. The average weight of the horns is about 300 - 400 gm. Horns are dumped in October - November, the new ones grow from December till June. Roe deer live in large forests and artificial wood and bush plantings in all natural zones of Ukraine. Well adapted to the cultivated landscape. Eat various plants. Willingly visit natural and artificial salt-marshes. The period of pairing passes since July to the beginning of August. There are 1-4 (more often 2) cubs in progeny.In spring and summer roe deer keep basically singly. In autumn and winter they form groups of 5 - 15 animals and keep together. Ways of hunting July and August - very good period for trophy hunting on the roe deer buck. Individual hunting on roe deer buck in Ukraine is resolved from May till October. From September till January hunting on all roe deer is resolved. There are some ways of hunting on this hoofed animal: collective beat hunting; sneaking up to the roe deer while they are feeding (the most successful time for such hunting - at dawn and dusk); also it is possible to hunt sitting on the tower or in the cover.
